Happy Birthday Kyle!

Happy birthday to my wonderful, inspiring, loving, charming husband!
Happy 30th birthday Kyle!

Today also marks the day these came in the mail:
Graduation Announcements!
I started graduate school in 2009 (seems like a lifetime ago), and this May I finally graduate! Somehow getting graduation announcements in the mail makes it "that" much more official. I have the first complete draft of my thesis due this Friday, and then we'll be celebrating Kyle's birthday this weekend (pics to come next week).

Giving it grace: Getting older used to be something I hated. It stemmed from hating change, hating unfamiliarity, and probably not wanting to grow up. Sometime after coming out of the "lost years" (23-27), I realized that growing older is perfectly part of God's plan for us. Growing older brings sanctification, wisdom, deeper love, growth, and more memories. Watching Kyle turn 30 makes me feel like we're younger than ever before (which I know logically is impossible). It takes grace to grow old, well, gracefully. I can't wait to see what the next year brings, for both us!

EEEEEaster!

Why the EEEEE? Because that's the noise I make when I get excited! And Easter is a time to get excited for! Growing up, I associated Easter with candy because my mom did not disappoint in the Easter-basket-department. Once I became a Christian, I started to truly know (and care) what Easter is actually about: the resurrection of Jesus, who conquered Satan, sin, and death when He rose. It's Jesus' live, death, and resurrection that make it possible for us (sinners) to be made clean (from sin) before God (sinless). Without Jesus' live, death, and resurrection, my life as a Christian would be pretty bleak. So I, for one, am really grateful for this day as it marks a celebration of the gospel!
